1. What MapPlanet is about
MapPlanet is an interactive world map where registered users can publish entries.
Entries may be personal, informative, cultural, charitable or commercial in nature. MapPlanet must not, however, be used for mass advertising or automated promotional entries.
2. User accounts
You need a free user account to create and manage entries.
Registration requires only your email address and a username. No further personal information is required.
Your email address is not displayed publicly and is not shared with third parties. It is used solely for communication between MapPlanet and you, for example for registration, password resets and messages concerning your user account.
Please keep your login details confidential.
User accounts must not be used for automated mass posting, spam, misleading advertising or other abusive purposes.
3. Entries
Entries can only be created in available locations on the map.
4. Your content
You are responsible for the text, images and links you publish. Please only publish content that you are allowed to use and display publicly.
In particular, unlawful, abusive, threatening, degrading, extremist or pornographic content is not permitted, nor is content that infringes the rights of others, contains malware or uses links in an abusive way.
You can report problematic or potentially unlawful content directly from the relevant entry using “Report entry” or by email to info@mapplanet.org. We may remove or block content or entries that violate these Terms of Service or applicable law.
5. Availability and changes
We aim to keep MapPlanet reliably available, but technical interruptions or changes cannot always be avoided. Features, map presentation and technical processes may therefore be developed further.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your user account at any time. Your entries and the content stored with them will also be deleted. If we are legally required to retain certain data, those legal obligations remain unaffected.
7. Liability
MapPlanet is operated with reasonable care. However, we cannot guarantee that the service will always be error-free or available without interruption.
Users and the respective providers are responsible for content published by users and for external websites they link to.
Otherwise, the statutory liability rules apply.
